FAQ
What happens if my pet is unwell overnight?
Call us straightaway. You’ll reach our live 24/7 triage team, who will talk through what’s happening and advise the best next steps.
Can a vet see my pet in the middle of the night?
Yes. If the case is genuinely urgent, an on-call vet can attend the practice to examine and stabilise your pet.
Which branch will I need to go to?
It depends on the emergency:
• simple urgent cases (like needing to make a dog vomit) may be directed to either branch,
• but emergencies needing imaging, lab work or surgical preparation are usually directed to our Diss branch, where more equipment is available.
Do you offer overnight hospital care?
Yes — we have facilities to keep patients overnight with on-site nursing supervision.
Are your vets awake on site overnight?
Our vets work on a rota system: they are on call overnight, not awake the entire night. If your pet needs constant 1:1 veterinary monitoring, we’ll recommend a specialist 24-hour hospital who can provide it.
What if my pet needs emergency surgery in the night?
If immediate surgery is required at a time when our surgical team is not available, we’ll arrange urgent referral to a trusted 24-hour surgical hospital.
How do I contact you in an emergency?
Just call our usual number — day or night. You will always be able to reach help and advice.
Please be aware that if you are not registered with us and the first time you use us is out of hours for an emergency then an out of hours registration fee of £150 is payable. This is a one off fee and does not apply to clients already registered with us.
