Job Title: Senior Veterinary Surgeon, small animal practice
Rota: Flexible, full time or part time. Out of hours duties: none or negotiable. We do not subcontract our out of hours. The position is also available to a candidate who would choose to do only the out of hours (nights and week ends) on a full time basis should they require day time to study/rest.
Essential requirements:
¬ RCVS registered
¬ Competent in surgery and medicine
¬ Exceptional consultation skills and communication skills with a good level of written and spoken English
¬ Someone with a passion for Veterinary medicine and surgery -those merely looking for a “Veterinary position” need not apply!
¬ Loyalty, honesty and dedication to the Practice
¬ Able to do sole charge and emergencies skills
¬ An understanding of the demands and requirements of running a Veterinary business

We are a modern, independent and enthusiastic veterinary surgery looking for a special individual who has a positive attitude and who will work with the management team to create an environment where EVERYONE works as a team to give the best to the patients, clients and each other. The Veterinarian sets the tone for the day; therefore we are looking for someone who takes responsibility for creating and steering practice morale in a positive direction. We have digital x-rays, fantastic ultrasound, dental suite and in house blood testing facilities. We pride ourselves on giving exceptional customer service and support to our loyal and very much loved client base. We believe passionately in alleviating both the stress and pain of any animal and expect an exceptionally high level of compassion and gentleness towards all species.
We offer the opportunity to work up all cases and put great emphasis on an accurate diagnosis in order to not prolong suffering of the animal, who are our first and foremost concern. We are a small animal general practice providing first opinion, routine surgery, emergency and critical care from our local network of two branches providing an exciting case load in medicine and surgery fields. We emphasise on preventative care and offer our customers our unique pet health plan. We pride ourselves in supporting our local cat shelter, Feline Care, managed by passionate and dedicated Molly and her amazing team.
We prioritise the wellbeing of our staff and believe that a good work/life balance is vital for a happy team. With this in mind, all of our vet appointments start from 10am to allow the vets to pursue morning activities such as walking, cycling, running, swimming etc.
